Dec 23, 2024

The innovative ‘All Lives of Wood’ project

RivaViva enthusiastically announces its new collaboration with the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Rome. The project, called ‘All Lives of Wood’, is set to redefine the way in which furniture design combines aesthetics, functionality and respect for the environment. Through this partnership, RivaViva confirms its commitment to sustainable innovation and the involvement of new generations in building a more conscious future.

Project aim

The ‘All Lives of Wood’ project will see students from the Product Design course in Academic Year 2024/25 engaged in the creation of innovative design concepts for furniture and accessories, using the pioneering Digital Passport Product (DPP). This partnership aims to forge a new paradigm in sustainable design, combining RivaViva’s woodworking expertise with the fresh and bold creativity of IED students. At the heart of the project is the development of a first product that embodies the principles of sustainability and innovation, traceable through the DPP. The project is a unique opportunity for young designers to test their skills and creativity. The students will work closely with RivaViva professionals, developing innovative design concepts for furniture and accessories.

A New Generation of Designers

Students will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge materials and technologies, guided by RivaViva’s expertise and the innovative vision of IED professors. The best projects will have the chance to be developed and marketed under the RivaViva brand. This collaboration perfectly embodies the mission to train designers who are not only creative, but also aware of their impact on the world. Students will be able to design furniture that meets aesthetic and functional criteria and is also fully sustainable. This approach educates a new generation of designers in environmental responsibility, making them active players in the transition to a circular economy.

The collaboration between RivaViva and IED Rome

The collaboration between RivaViva and IED represents a virtuous example of synergy between the academic and business worlds. It is not only an opportunity to promote innovation in the design sector, but also to raise awareness of the importance of conscious choices in terms of furnishing and sustainability. ‘All Lives of Wood’ is much more than just a project: it represents a bridge between present and future, between innovation and tradition, between creativity and sustainability. This collaboration between RivaViva and IED testifies how design can be a powerful tool to face environmental challenges, involving the new generations in a path of awareness and responsibility.
