Folk is a combination of soft, rounded edges and clean, fresh lines. The frame is made of solid pine wood and embodies the simplicity of Scandinavian design. The metal armrest contrasts with the soft lines of the frame and emphasizes that Folk is more than just a sofa. With one simple move, the armrest releases and transforms the sofa into a bed for two. The 14 cm high futon mattress is made of 90-95% cotton and 5-10% foam. The outer cover is 80% cotton + 20% polyester (the linen-colored futon cover is composed of 75% cotton + 25% linen). Karup’s design stems from the perfect combination of minimalist and essential Scandinavian design and Japanese futons. All of its creations are transformable solid wood furniture: teen rooms, guest rooms, first homes, and summer homes. Karup uses the advantages of futons to find new, unexplored solutions.All beds and sofa beds are made entirely of natural wood, thus ensuring a perfect balance between personal health culture and environmentally sustainable philosophy.
